Service temperature

110–120 °C for DZR brass valves.
This is the limit of the material itself. A valve's service temperature is usually set by the seal and seat materials; product pages give it for each seal option.
Physical properties and heat treatment
- HEAT TREATMENT
- After forging, a 2-hour heat treatment at 500–550 °C is needed for dezincification resistance (Diehl).
Media suitability GENERAL TREND

Low temperature
Emsal assessment. The final choice is made from corrosion tables, taking concentration, temperature, chloride content and flow velocity into account.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
- Dezincification resistant (DZR)
- Good machinability
Weaknesses
- Heat treatment after forging is essential, otherwise the DZR property is lost
- More expensive than CW617N, lower forgeability
Manufacturing and use
- ECONOMY
- Medium.
- MANUFACTURING METHODS
- Hot forging + heat treatment · Turning from bar
