Move the pressure or temperature slider, or drag the point on the chart. The link carries the selected values.
INPUT
°C
°C steam
How to read it
- Saturated steam: pressure and temperature are linked; choosing one fixes the other. This is how temperature is read from a pressure gauge in steam lines.
- hfg (latent heat of evaporation) is the heat released as steam condenses; it is the energy actually used for heating. It decreases as pressure rises.
- Superheated steam: steam heated above the saturation temperature at the same pressure; its enthalpy and volume increase, and heat transfer is weaker than with condensation.
- Density (1 / v) is used to calculate pipe size and flow velocity.
- Accuracy and currency are not guaranteed; use the current edition of the standard for design and purchasing decisions. How the library is compiled →
