Tilting disc check valve

Tilting disc check valves are high-performance check valves that let liquid or gas flow in one direction only and prevent backflow as the disc tilts closed. When fully open, the disc lies parallel to the flow axis and offers minimal resistance; it closes by gravity and/or with spring assistance. Because the disc tilts rather than slams, it closes smoothly, which reduces the risk of water hammer.

Advantages

  • Smooth, balanced closing: reduces the risk of water hammer
  • Low cracking pressure: operates with minimal system load
  • Fast response: particularly effective at pump discharges
  • Long service life: wear-resistant disc and hinge system
  • High flow capacity: minimal resistance when fully open

Applications

  • Pump discharges (especially large-diameter systems)
  • Power plants (cooling water, condensate lines)
  • Oil and gas lines
  • Fire-fighting systems
  • Marine and ship machinery
  • Industrial process water systems

Options and accessories

  • Spring-assisted closing: faster closing, maximum protection against water hammer
  • Hydraulic damper: controls the closing speed of the disc and prevents vibration
  • Backflow monitoring port: allows checks before maintenance
  • Tight-sealing design: leakage rate determined to EN 12266-1
