ASTM A216 Grade WCC

STANDARDASTM A216FORMCastingUNSJ02503ASMESA-216 WCC

The lower-carbon, higher-manganese version of WCB. Higher proof strength and good weldability; preferred for higher pressure classes.

Room temperature. Reduction of area Z ≥ 35% (ASTM A216).

Service temperature

Same as WCB: starts at −29 °C; not used for prolonged periods above 425 °C (graphitization).

This is the limit of the material itself. A valve's service temperature is usually set by the seal and seat materials; product pages give it for each seal option.
