Features
03The bored balls in 4-way ball valves are shaped to direct the flow in various directions. The most common bore configurations are:
Each design works with 90° or 180° actuators that switch the flow directions.
Applications: process control systems, for diverting and mixing flows; chemical and food industries, for directing and dosing different media. Their versatility makes them important components in automation systems.
Flow combinations (with X-port ball)
- Lines 1-2 and 3-4 open at the same time
- Lines 1-4 and 2-3 cross-connected
- All lines closed
- Gradual changeover between specific ports
Ball types
- X-port ball: cross-connects the four ports. For example, 1-2 and 3-4 can be open at the same time, or 1-4 and 2-3 can be cross-connected.
- L-port ball: applies the three-port L pattern to four ports to divert flow between specific ports.
- T-port ball: suitable for combining flow from one line and distributing it to the other two.
Configurations by application
| Configuration | Ports | Flow path |
|---|---|---|
| Position 1 | 1 ↔ 2, 3 ↔ 4 | Two parallel flows |
| Position 2 | 1 ↔ 4, 2 ↔ 3 | Cross flow |
| Position 3 | All closed | No flow |
| Position 4 | 1–2–3 open | Combined flow |

Actuator
Actuators open and close industrial valves automatically. By removing the need for manual operation, they make processes safer and more efficient.

Limit switch box
Limit switch boxes are used in industrial automation to monitor the position of a valve or another moving mechanical part. They are usually combined with pneumatic and electric actuators, and can also be mounted directly on a manually operated valve.

Manual gear operator
Manual gear operators make it possible to operate large, high-torque valves by hand. The operator turns a handwheel or lever, and the gear mechanism opens or closes the valve.

Mounting bracket
Mounting brackets are mechanical supports for securely fitting actuators, gear operators and other accessories to a valve. They connect the valve body to the actuator and keep the assembly stable in operation.
