Features
02Operation
- The fluid turns the turbine blades as it passes through the rotor.
- The rotational speed of the turbine is proportional to the flow rate.
- Magnetic or optical sensors detect the rotation of the rotor, and the electronics convert the signals into a flow rate.
Advantages
- High accuracy: down to ±0.5% error, especially in systems with steady flow.
- Wide temperature and pressure range: models with steel bodies and precision bearings can also be used in harsh conditions.
- Analogue & digital outputs: easy integration with SCADA and PLC systems.
- Cost-effective: more economical than other high-tech flow meters.
Applications
- Fuel flow control
- Measurement of low-viscosity chemicals
- Cooling water and glycol control
- Dosing of pure water and solutions
Considerations
- The fluid must be clean and free of particles; solids can wear the turbine.
- Calibration is required; periodic recalibration is recommended to maintain accuracy over time.
- Flow direction and correct installation matter; reversed installation causes measuring errors.
